New Born Screening (NBS):
Neonatal screening is a preventive paediatric service performed to identify and rule out the presence of some congenital disorders. It ensures that all babies are screened for certain conditions at birth.
WCF provides services for several congenital abnormalities like:
• Inborn metabolic errors
• Endocrinopathy
• Immune deficiencies
• Hemoglobinopathy
• Hearing loss
• Congenital heart diseases
These disorders if not detected with in first two weeks of birth will lead to permanent and irreparable physical & mental disorders.
